    Lisa Hilliard, Project Manager

Lisa loves the Purdue and Greater Lafayette community so much she has not left since her arrival in 1990. Lisa earned her bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Purdue University in 1994. Then stepped away from the academic realm for eight years only to return in 2002 where she began working for Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Basic Medical Sciences. During her eight and half years with the BMS department, Lisa managed the prep lab for all PVM anatomy courses as well as assisted in veterinary gross anatomy laboratory instruction for 7 courses. As a result of her passion for anatomy education, she began to pursue her master’s of science in basic medical sciences with a focus on anatomy. Her research focus is centered on retrieval practice as an effective and efficient pedagogy for long term retention and diagnostic application of anatomical knowledge. Her pilot research resulted in her inclusion in an annual live television broadcast for 6th grade youth entitled,” We’re All Animals” as well as outreach programs for 4-H Youth. In 2011, Lisa joined the Institute for Accessible Science team to help inspire and aid those with the same fire and drive for science innovation as she in their future careers.
