Welcome to the IAS Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program

We are NOW accepting applicants for our summer 2013 program!.

The IAS Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program has a goal of promoting the inclusion of persons with physical disabilities in biomedical science careers through assistive technology development, student and educator support services and research. Our aim is to encourage talented undergraduate students with physical disabilities like you that are interested in biomedical science related careers to engage in laboratory research and enhance your preparation for graduate study.

If selected for this program, you will be paired with a faculty mentor who will work with you to design and conduct a research project on a topic related to their research in biomedical science. In addition, through IAS-specific activities you will have a unique opportunity to actively contribute to an improved understanding of the issues students with physical disabilities face in pursuing a career in biomedical science.

Selection will be based on perceived interest in pursuing a doctoral degree, relevant college coursework and grades, letters of recommendation, and their ability to contribute to the goals of the program.

To apply, complete and submit the application form , ask the Registrar(s) of universities you are attending and have previously attended to send us a copy of your transcript(s), and contact two faculty members to send us letters of recommendation for you. Since the program fills quickly, application materials should be sent as soon as possible.

We will be accepting applications through April 15th!
